England’s top doctor is backing calls for O Positive and O Negative blood donors to urgently donate following a cyber incident in London. The NHS needs three blood donations every minute in hospitals for emergencies, childbirth, and routine treatments. The cyber attack on a pathology provider means affected hospitals can’t match patients’ blood at the usual frequency, so more O type blood is needed.
