ONC leaders call for fewer regulations, not more

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) discussed their work on digital innovation and data exchange at the HIMSS18 ONC Town Hall. Officials provided updates on rules and certification, standards and technology, privacy and security, precision medicine, and interoperability. ONC is focused on achieving its mission of empowering patients with electronic data while reducing clinician burden. They are also working on streamlining documentation guidelines, improving the measurement and reporting of quality, and addressing the opioid epidemic.
