ONC says stakeholders can ‘pick up and run’ with new regs
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) has proposed a rule aiming to automate healthcare interoperability through API-based exchanges. The second version of the Health Data, Technology, and Interoperability rule (HTI-2) will address the data exchange needs of patients, providers, and public health agencies, and introduces certification criteria for health IT. The rule incorporates cybersecurity standards for multi-factor authentication and introduces an exception for certain reproductive health data.
