ONC tackles patient matching problem

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT has launched a collaborative project to improve data exchange between different technology systems in healthcare. The project aims to identify common attributes used for patient matching and define processes and best practices to support accurate matching rates. The initiative includes partnerships with federal agencies and organizations such as HIMSS and CHIME. The project will conclude later this year with a list of recommendations for ONC to consider. Audacious Inquiry will also support the project by providing market reports on patient matching.
