One month in, there aren’t any huge, known log4j hacks

The Cybersecurity 202 newsletter discusses the log4j software bug, which, despite being lauded as one of history’s most serious bugs affecting nearly 3000 commercial tech products, hasn’t led to any major hacks. Although some victims may not realise they’ve been hacked, cyber defenders have successfully protected many vulnerable targets. The newsletter also highlights new subpoenas in a Wisconsin election review, Europol’s order to delete a large portion of its policing database, and the increase in facial recognition tech contracts by US government agencies.
