Operations and appointments still being cancelled after NHS cyber attack
Hospitals in London have been forced to cancel hundreds of operations and appointments after the ransomware attack on Synnovis. More than 320 planned operations and 1,294 outpatient appointments were postponed at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in the second week following the attack. The total number of appointments postponed so far is 1,134 planned operations and 2,194 outpatient appointments. The attack left Synnovis’ ability to process and report blood tests severely reduced. The ransomware attack is believed to have been carried out by the Russian group, Qilin.
