Organisations should avoid BCC emails for private info warns ICO

The UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is urging organisations to avoid using the blind carbon copy (BCC) email function due to recent data breaches. The ICO highlighted that BCC alone doesn’t fully protect personal data and suggested using bulk email services, mail merge, or secure data transfer. The body warned against negligent behaviour and recommended sufficient staff training to prevent future breaches.
