Organizations behind on cloud security, even as cloud investments surge

In 2023, the cybersecurity landscape was marked by advances in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in cyberattacks, a resurgence of ransomware, and a shortened time frame for reporting breaches. Cloud security became a particular concern as threat actors’ skills in this area outpaced those of legitimate businesses. Despite broad cloud adoption and confidence in platform security, a quarter of organizations surveyed reported a lack of necessary skills to properly secure the cloud. Businesses now need to prioritize improving cloud visibility and security to confidently comply with stricter breach-reporting rules.
