‘Out of date’ IT system leaves NHS at risk of further cyber attacks

The former chief executive of the National Cyber Security Centre, Professor Ciaran Martin, has warned that outdated parts of the NHS’s IT system are at risk of further cyberattacks. NHS England confirmed data stolen in a ransomware attack in June has been published online. The attack led to the postponement of over 6,000 procedures and appointments at major London hospitals.
