Over a million NHS users have data leaked following ransomware attack

The University of Manchester’s data breach has exposed 1.1 million NHS patients’ details collected for research. The breach, suspected to be due to a ransomware attack, might have exposed patients’ NHS numbers and parts of their postcodes. An internal probe hinted that around 250GB data could have been accessed. While the hackers’ details are not clear, the incident isn’t linked with the recent MOVEit file transfer service attack.
