Over half of SME cyber incidents now ‘malware-free’
Over 56% of cyber attacks on small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Q3 used “malware-free” methods such as scripting frameworks and legitimate tools, according to a report by Huntress. This shift is primarily linked to a rise in the exploitation of remote monitoring and management software tools. The report also emphasised the need to reassess defensive strategies and extend visibility and security beyond companies’ perimeters.
