Owlet, Wheel partner to launch telehealth platform for caregivers of infants

Baby tech firm Owlet and telehealth services provider Wheel are partnering to allow Wheel’s clinicians to prescribe Owlet’s BabySat, a wire-free pulse oximetry sock for infants. The device, which has FDA clearance, monitors a baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels and alerts caregivers when readings fall outside prescribed ranges. Caregivers can obtain a prescription through Wheel’s online portal or its clinicians, and the cost may be covered by insurers.
