Patient data held by hacker group after cyber attack, health board confirms

The group INC Ransom has claimed to have taken three terabytes of data from NHS Scotland, posting “proof pack” showing it is real, on the dark web. The Scottish Government said the incident was confined to one health board NHS Dumfries & Galloway. The health board has confirmed the data is genuine and the patients affected will be contacted. Health services are expected to operate normally. The incident is under investigation by law enforcement agencies.
