Patient data held by hacker group after cyber attack, health board confirms
The NHS Dumfries & Galloway health board in Scotland confirmed it was subject to a cyber attack from the group INC Ransom, which claimed to have three terabytes of data from the service. The government confirmed the data breach, but stressed it has been contained to one board and will have no impact on patient services. The incident is being investigated by the National Cyber Security Centre and Police Scotland.
