Patient data held by hacker group after cyber attack, health board confirms

A post by hacker group INC Ransom on its dark web blog claimed it had three terabytes of data from NHS Scotland, although the Scottish Government said the incident has been contained to one health board. The hackers included a “proof pack” of data, which has been confirmed as genuine by the board. An investigation involving the National Cyber Security Centre, the Scottish Government, Police Scotland and other agencies is underway.
