Patient data held by hacker group after cyber attack, health board confirms
Hackers who claim to have stolen 3 TB of data from NHS Dumfries and Galloway are allegedly selling the data on the dark web. The incriminating post, made by the group INC Ransom, included a “proof pack”, which has been confirmed as genuine by the health board, and affects a “significant amount” of data. Those affected will be contacted and services will continue, as the Scottish Government, Police Scotland, and the National Cyber Security Centre continue to assess the impact of the breach.
