Patient data held by hacker group after cyber attack, health board confirms

A hacker group called INC Ransom has claimed to possess three terabytes of data from NHS Dumfries and Galloway, released as a “proof pack” on its dark web blog. Though the Scottish Government maintains the breach is restricted to that health board region, the exposed data contains patient information. The board is working with various authorities including Police Scotland and the National Cyber Security Centre to address the situation.
