Patient data held by hacker group after cyber attack, health board confirms

NHS Dumfries and Galloway confirmed that a hacker group, INC Ransom, claimed to have three terabytes of its data. The group has released a “proof pack” to confirm its claim. Patients whose data was compromised will be contacted and the hospital is coordinating with the Scottish Government and law enforcement to assess the level of the breach. The hack has not affected patient services.
