Patient data held by hacker group after cyber attack, health board confirms

A hacker group claims it has obtained three terabytes of data from Scotland’s NHS. The group, INC Ransom, posted a ‘proof pack’ of some of the data on the dark web, which has been confirmed as genuine by NHS Dumfries and Galloway. Confidential patient data was among the leaked information. The board admitted to only a ‘small number’ of patients affected and said the incident was limited to one health board.
