Patient data held by hacker group after cyber attack, health board confirms

A group called INC Ransom has reportedly obtained three terabytes of data from NHS Scotland, although the Scottish government said the breach was restricted to one health board, the NHS Dumfries and Galloway. Police Scotland inquiries into a cyber attack on the institution are continuing. The health board’s patient services are operative and patients whose data was leaked will be contacted, according to the health board’s CEO, Jeff Ace.
