Patient details published following cyber attack on London hospitals

Hackers published the private information of NHS patients on the dark web after a cyber attack on a blood testing firm led to the cancellation of over a thousand operations. The Russian-based group Qilin demanded a £40m ($55.7m) ransom. The information includes NHS numbers and blood test descriptions. The data amounts to almost 400GB, suggesting tens of thousands of affected patients. The firm, Synnovis, suffered a similar attack two months ago on its Italian branch.
