Patient safety alert system launched

The National Health Service (NHS) England has launched the National Patient Safety Alerting System in an attempt to highlight patient safety risks within NHS organisations. Expected to provide faster updates of potential risks, the new system will replace current systems, introduce an integrated reporting route and, from April this year, publish monthly data on trusts that do not comply with alerts in the timeframe provided.
