Personal Health Card to launch at HIMSS11
LifeNexus, based in Broomfield, Colorado, has developed a new electronic health card embedded with a microcomputer that can store an individual’s personal health records and also serve as a payment card. The Individually Controlled Health Information Platform (iChip) technology on the card ensures that the information remains private and secure. The company will be giving out 1,000 cards at the HIMSS11 conference next week, and officials believe that the card will help address challenges in healthcare like lowering costs, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring privacy.
