Pharma company director disqualified for competition law breaches
Amit Patel has been banned from being a director of any UK company for five years due to illegal dealings in his previous roles at Auden McKenzie and Amilco Ltd. The infractions included price-fixing and limiting competition in the supply of NHS prescribed drugs. These actions potentially led to the NHS having to pay inflated prices for drugs. Patel’s banning takes the total number of disqualifications enforced by the Competition and Markets Authority to 16 since 2016.
