Philips to showcase the Silent Patient Room at HIMSS24

Philips is showcasing technology that aims to create a “silent” intensive care unit by connecting all medical devices in a room to a single interface. Christoph Pedain, head of hospital patient monitoring at Philips, said the company’s Service-Oriented Device Connectivity (SDC) allows clinicians to see and operate devices regardless of manufacturer, and enables notifications from devices such as infusion pumps to be sent to a mobile app and not just sounded in the room.
