Pilot data of American Airlines and Southwest stolen in data breach

Pilotcredentials.com, an external vendor for US airlines American and Southwest, suffered a data breach impacting personal data of pilots. Around 8,754 pilots had their names, social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, passports, date of birth, Airman Certificate and other government ID numbers compromised. The airlines have suspended use of the third party, redirecting pilot applicants to an internal portal, and offered free identity protection membership.
