Playing with FHIR? Don’t get burned, white-hat hacker cautions

A white paper by cybersecurity expert Alissa Knight, titled “Playing With FHIR,” highlighted vulnerabilities in healthcare’s last mile. Knight’s research found that millions of patient and clinician records could be accessed through a single patient login account, and many mobile apps had hardcoded API keys and tokens that could be exploited. Knight emphasized the need for developers to secure API implementations to protect patient data, which is highly valuable on the dark web.
