Police Procedural: How South Carolina Arrest Records Were Exposed

A cloud bucket with the personal identification information (PII) of thousands of people involved in the South Carolina justice system has been successfully secured, after containing information about victims, witnesses, and individuals charged with crimes. After Spartan Technology rapidly secured the leak, the UpGuard Research team could reveal that around 17,000 unique Social Security numbers were exposed in the leak, along with other PII.
