Police working with Meta to remove WhatsApp lines believed to be used in scams

Singapore police are teaming up with Meta to tackle the rising incidence of scams on social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook. Scammers, who the police say are becoming more sophisticated, typically use attractive offers and promotions to draw in victims, often young adults aged 20 to 39. In the first half of the year, victims lost S$334.5m (US$244.8m) to scams.
