Powerful Malware Disguised as Crypto Miner Infects 1M+ Windows, Linux PCs

The “StripedFly” malware has evaded detection for over five years by disguising itself as a trivial cryptocurrency miner, infecting over a million Windows and Linux devices, according to Kaspersky. Using its own version of the notorious NSA-developed EternalBlue exploit, StripedFly can collect sensitive data, control machines, capture screenshots, and even record microphone input. A cryptocurrency mining module helps it remain undetected.
