Private firms can already get their hands on your NHS records

Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), sub-organisations within the National Health Service (NHS), utilise personal health data to target high-cost, high-risk individuals with interventions aimed at preventing health deterioration. However, research by the Keep Our NHS (KONP) Data Working Group has highlighted potential data privacy issues with ICS systems, with concerns regarding the unclear nature of privacy notices and use of data under the ‘public task’ basis. KONP asserts that improvements to existing data safeguards are necessary to maintain trust.
