Proofpoint Exposes Sophisticated Social Engineering Attack on Recruiters That Infects Their Computers With Malware
US cybersecurity company Proofpoint has identified a new attack campaign operated by threat actor TA4557. Targeting recruiters, benign content is sent via email before infecting their machines with the More_Eggs malware. A variety of techniques are used to try to stay undetected. It is advised that anyone involved in hiring be informed about these types of social engineering techniques, and remain vigilant about suspicious documents or links.
