A cybersecurity operations centre (SOC) at the University of Abertay, Scotland is working towards protecting NHS organisations from ransomware and other cyber threats. The SOC, which offers practical experience for cybersecurity students, aims to grow its capacity and services organically over time. The team is also collaborating with Cylera, a company specialising in cybersecurity for connected medical devices, to identify network vulnerabilities. Ensuring the robust cybersecurity of the health system remains a priority as cybercrime trends upwards amidst widespread digitisation.
