Public warned of scam text impersonating the NHS tracing app

Scammers are sending fake text messages posing as the NHS’ new contact tracing app, asking users for their bank account details. The fakes are appearing before the official app has been fully rolled out and include a link to a bogus website, which users are directed to input their personal information. The personal information is then used by scammers to gain access to bank accounts and potentially to commit identity fraud.
