Qakbot Hackers Continue to Push Malware After Takedown Attempt

Cybercriminals behind the Qakbot malware have continued to distribute ransomware and backdoors following a recent crackdown by law enforcement, according to a report from Cisco’s Talos group. Despite the seizure of millions in cryptocurrency and a move to eliminate the malware from infected devices, hacking activities continued, with suggestions that the enforcement operation only impacted Qakbot’s command and control servers, not its spam delivery infrastructure.
