Qakbot hackers now pushing Cyclops/Ransom Knight ransomware, Cisco says

The Qakbot malware hackers have transitioned to spreading ransomware, as per security researchers at Cisco Talos. The malicious files have names suggesting that their distribution is via phishing emails. The activity began prior to the FBI dismantling the Qakbot infrastructure and has continued, pointing to the operation not affecting the spam delivery infrastructure but only the command and control servers. The researchers warned that this will likely pose a significant threat in the future.
