Qakbot returns in fresh assault on hospitality sector

Despite the Qakbot botnet being disrupted in August, cybercriminals are still attempting to spread the malware. The Microsoft Threat Intelligence team detected a new Qakbot phishing campaign targeting the hospitality industry, the first since the botnet was dismantled. The hackers pretended to be IRS employees and used a PDF to distribute the malware.
