Qilin ransomware group blamed for attack disrupting London hospitals

The Russia-based ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) group Qilin is behind the recent attack that caused London hospitals to declare a state of emergency, according to past National Cyber Security Centre CEO, Ciaran Martin. The attack targeted Synnovis, a partnership between two NHS trusts that hosts Europe’s largest provider of medical testing and diagnostics, SYNLAB. Consequently, pathology services, and patient care at two hospitals and various general practitioners across multiple boroughs were disrupted.
