Ransomware attack derails UVM’s Epic implementation timeline

The University of Vermont Health Network is delaying the rollout of its Epic electronic health record implementation following a cyberattack that is still impacting the system. The second phase of the rollout will be delayed by eight months, and the third phase will be pushed back to April 2022. The network experienced challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the ransomware attack. The implementation aims to replace a patchwork of software applications that were not fully integrated.
