Ransomware attack hits dozens of Romanian hospitals
Over 100 Romanian hospitals have been affected by a ransomware attack, forcing some doctors to rely on pen and paper. Cyber attackers demanded 3.5 Bitcoin (roughly £130,000) to unlock encrypted files. However, the impact has been mitigated due to recent data backups. The National Cyber Security Directorate is investigating the incident, with 25 facilities directly affected and 79 more taken offline preemptively.
