Ransomware attack leaves London hospital services disrupted and cancelled

Several London hospitals’ key services were severely disrupted following a ransomware attack targeting Synnovis, the provider of IT systems for lab services at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trusts and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. NHS England has deployed a cyber incident response team to manage the problem, which has affected blood tests and primary care in southeast London boroughs. The ramifications are under investigation.
