Ransomware attack on Nissan North America results in employee data loss
Nissan North America (NNA) reported that the personal information of 53,038 individuals, including NNA employees, was compromised in a ransomware attack. The breach, which impacted current and former employees’ Social Security numbers, allegedly occurred on November 7, 2023. The company was alerted in February 2024, and has since implemented security enhancements such as an enterprise-wide password reset, Carbon Black monitoring, and vulnerability scans.
