Ransomware Attack on Synnovis Disrupts Pathology Services

London’s Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust have been impacted after a ransomware attack on Synnovis. The attack disrupted pathology services, particularly affecting blood transfusions, leading to the cancellation or redirection of some procedures. However, emergency care remains unaffected. The National Cyber Security Centre and the NHS Cyber Operations team are assessing the situation, which was declared a “critical incident” on Tuesday.
