Ransomware blamed for cyber attack which forced hospitals to cancel operations and shut down systems

A cyberattack using Globe2 ransomware infected systems at the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, reportedly causing the cancellation of 2,800 patient appointments. After declaring a major incident, the trust went offline for four days. A spokesperson for the hospital said it had enhanced its “existing cyber security” in response to the attack.
