Ransomware computer attack on London hospitals still ‘critical’ incident with operations cancelled

A cyber attack has caused major hospitals in London to cancel operations for more than three days, according to the NHS. The ransomware attack, for which there is some suggestion a Russian group is responsible, first hit computer firm Synnovis. Hospitals served by the company, such as Guy’s and St Thomas’, the Royal Bromptom and King’s College, experienced severe disruptions to services. Some hospital departments, including blood transfusion services, are still unable to connect to main servers.
