Ransomware Gang Demands $80M, Leaks CDW Data

CDW, an IT services company, saw data leaked after failing to pay a $80 million ransom demanded by the LockBit cybercrime group. The data stolen was on a server used for CDW-G’s US subsidiary, Sirius Federal and included employee badges, audit records and commission payout data. The hefty ransom demands of LockBit have been likened to those of REvil and Hive, with some suggesting that this escalation could lead to higher cyber insurance premiums.
