Ransomware Gang Takes Credit for Disruptive MGM Resorts Cyberattack

US hospitality and entertainment giant MGM Resorts was hacked by known ransomware gang ALPHV, also known as BlackCat. MGM’s website, casinos, hotel booking systems, restaurant reservations, and digital keys were among the impacted systems, which have not yet been fully restored. The hacking, conducted via social engineering, could have material impact on MGM, potentially affecting its credit rating and share prices.
