Ransomware gangs display ruthless extortion tactics in April

Ransomware attacks increased in April, with 29 reported compared to 22 in March. Both public and private sector entities were targeted, with education, private enterprises, and technology companies among the victims. Extortion tactics intensified, with attackers pressuring victims into payment. Notable attacks were reported by Western Digital Corporation, Point32Health and CommScope. Companies are being urged to patch vulnerabilities to help mitigate the risk of such attacks.
