Reading GP clinic sent out private email addresses in “data breach”

South Reading & Shinfield Group Medical Practice accidentally exposed 288 customer email addresses when it failed to conceal the data while sending an invitation for a group meeting. The practice cancelled the meeting and later apologised for the error, promising to improve procedures for sending emails. The incident is set to be reported to the NHS data security service, as well as the Information Commissioner’s Office if needed.
