Records on 300m patient interactions with NHS stolen in Russian hack | NHS

Russian hacking group, Qilin, stole patient records from the NHS involving 300 million interactions, including results of cancer and HIV blood tests. Qilin reportedly put the stolen data into the public realm after Synnovis, a private/NHS provider of pathology services, refused to pay a £40m ransom. The hack has caused significant disruption across two NHS trusts and numerous GP practices, affecting access to blood tests and forcing the cancellation of operations.
